5 questions that change the perspective on the real estate agent profession
Is membership in WSPON just a formality, or a real value in daily work? How to combine competition with a culture of cooperation? And what does the client gain by placing their property in the hands of someone who co-creates the standards of the entire industry?
Before you are 5 questions that change the perspective on the profession of a broker. We invite you to read!
1. As an active real estate agent and WSPON board member, you work “at the source.” What does your client gain by cooperating with a person who not only belongs to the Association but also co-creates industry standards?
I give my clients much more than just brokerage – I give them a sense of being “taken care of” in a world where even the smallest stumble can cost dearly. As a board member of WSPON, I do not just follow the changes – I co-create the work standards according to which the best agents operate. Clients cooperating with me gain access to “first-hand” knowledge. I have direct contact with experts and possess tools that have not yet entered common use. This is a value that is hard to “beat” with promises of effective sales alone. My involvement in WSPON is a guarantee for the client that their transaction is conducted according to the highest standards, and not “by feel.”
2. How does membership in WSPON influence an agent's position in the eyes of premium clients and developers? Is it a mark of quality for them?
Definitely yes. Membership in WSPON is an indisputable mark of quality – a logo of reliability. Today, more and more clients, when choosing a broker, look for differentiators that will confirm the correctness of their choice. In the era of AI, where a professional business card in a brand-name suit can be generated in a few minutes, the credibility of WSPON cannot be faked digitally. It is a real guarantee of security, which obliges me to comply with the Code of Ethics. For a developer, I am a business partner, and for every client – regardless of the size of their capital – a guarantee of professionalism.
3. The real estate market changes dynamically. How does WSPON help you always be one step ahead of the changes?
There are many changes, and tracking them independently while conducting presentations can be a challenge. Thanks to WSPON training sessions and expert panels, when new regulations come into force, I don't nervously wonder “what now?”; instead, I have ready-made strategies at my disposal. This knowledge gives me an advantage: I can advise the client when to speed up a transaction and when it is worth holding off on a decision to avoid unfavorable regulations. It is precisely being “one step ahead” that builds my position of authority in the eyes of clients.
4. How do you manage to combine market competition with a culture of cooperation within the Association?
Paradoxically – with great ease! Although it may sound like an abstraction to outsiders, for us, it is a foundation. Outside the Association, we sometimes fight for the same offers, but we play by the rules of fair play. WSPON members are united by mutual trust and the MLS system. We know that the exchange of offers brings benefits primarily to the client themselves. As a board member, I see this every day: we know and respect each other. It's hard to treat someone as an enemy when we drink coffee together in the morning at a brokers' breakfast. WSPON has a human face – and a very smiling one at that.
5. If you were to name one, most important benefit of being a WSPON member – one that changes the game – what would it be?
For me, the human factor wins. In real estate, we are not lonely islands. Working on one's own, even with a great offer, we might wait months for a transaction. However, having a proven network of WSPON contacts behind us, we are able to connect a buyer with a seller in the proverbial fifteen minutes. This means that an off-market offer can find a buyer with just one phone call. You stop acting alone – you become part of a powerful, efficiently operating network that completely changes the rules of the game to your client's advantage.
